Local Information

Nestled among the beautiful Ten Thousand Islands just 30 minutes East of Naples Florida and just 89 miles west of Miami is an Island Paradise called Marco Island.. The Mackle Brothers, or the DeltonaCorporation envisioned this pristine island as an opportunity to develop this into a beautiful community in early 1965 .Today in an area of approx 6 miles by 8 miles there is that thriving community with Residential homes, condos, hotels, commercial businesses, time shares and many rental opportunities.Marco Islands Real Estate market is unique and different from most other Southwest Florida Real Estate Markets. The residents who reside on this lovely island pride themselves in offering a friendly, self contained community with property values that start for inland residential homes in the $300,000.’s to well over $4,000,000. The Condo market has plenty of opportunities for  a second home or full time resident, prices as low as the mid $150,000's for small non waterfront buildings to over severval million dollars for Waterfront 3 and 4 bedroom units on the beach. If condo living is what you are looking for there is a great supply in every price range on Marco Island. The second home buyer wants a place they can come to with little worry about the upkeep they can come and go by just locking their doors and feel that their property is being taken care of during their time away. Marco Island is a well rounded community with the average age according to the 2009 Census being between 47 and 65 years of age, Therefore this area is attracting a great deal of Baby Boomers, as well as the second home retirees to the area. We have many young families with children that attend Tommy Barfield elementary school and our Charter  Middle school as well as a New Baptist high school that are some of the best in the State. Some high school  students may attend high school in the nearby Naples area.

Anne McDonald,PA,CRS,GRI,SRES,AHWD,E-pro,& CNS and a Broker Sales Associate and Realtor for over 45 years finds Marco Island the perfect place to  work and enjoy life.

Anne's husband,

Capt. Don is a Professional Everglades Wildlife Photographer with his first Published Pictorial adventure in 2009 " Reflections of the Everglades" His web-site is

With  all the benefits that Coldwell Banker has to offer, Marco Island certainly is featured a great deal in the Previews magazine, Unique Homes and the Portfolio magazine. Anne started her Real Estate profession on another Island Paradise of Key Biscayne where Anne’s Parents had their own Real Estate office and which Anne was Broker and owner of that firm when her parents retired in 1984.Before coming to Marco in 1996 after falling in love with Marco back when the Mackle Brothers would bring people over from Key Biscayne to Marco to buy Real Estate back in 1965.

Marco Island is a beautiful place to visit, or come and stay a lifetime. The City will welcome you to its community enjoy its wildlife of burring owls, tortoises, manatees, pelicans, the American Eagle, ospreys, egrets, rosett spoonbills and dolphins seen all over Marco, come visit it shops, and restaurants, walk on our white sugar sand beaches and marvel at our magnificent Sunsets. They will take your breath away.
